A Child’s Perspective
This young child passed (very quickly) from a brain tumor at the age of 2. This is an excerpt of the conversation we had with his grandmother:
Alice Violet: Child is asking “Why didn’t you talk to me before?”
I’m letting him know that you didn’t know you could do that…and this is really important for you to share with your family. That he’s around you. He did go into the light. He has a guardian with him, that has always been with him before he incarnated, when he came in, and when he went back. He’s (child) always been aware of him. Babies can see the angels and guides, and because he was so young when he passed, he’s always been aware of him.
He’s saying now “Why don’t you talk to me?”
Part of what I do is educate people that you can continue talking to his spirit. From his perspective, he has this guide that he’s completely in touch with. When he dies his guide is there to help him cross over. So from his perspective everybody has this awareness and he doesn’t understand why people don’t keep talking to him [in the same way as before].
Client: Well I do stop and see him and talk to him all the time. We all do.
Alice Violet: How do you stop and see him?
Client: I go to the cemetery all the time. (when the grandmother goes to the grave she is crying and grieving for her grandson, so we talk about how this is what he experiences and doesn’t understand)
Alice Violet: Right, but his spirit is here as soon as you call him. So going to the cemetery is almost the opposite of the way you want to be connecting with him- because it brings up your grief and he’s like I’m right here and I’m okay. He still has this childlike innocence and he doesn’t understand. So we need to make this shift in the way you connect to him.

Q: Is a Ghost A Person?
Alice Violet: Yes. A ghost is a person. The term ghost refers to the soul or spirit of a person that remains after the physical body has died.
Q: Why don’t we just call them a soul or spirit then?
Alice Violet: The term ghost is used when a soul or spirit becomes trapped on the physical plane instead of returning to the higher spiritual planes upon death.
Q: How do they become trapped?
Alice Violet: They usually become trapped due to some trauma or unfinished business. They might not have believed that anything else existed after their earthly life.
Q: Does a ghost become bound to one place?
Alice Violet: Yes, they are attached to a place or an object.
In the case of the Yankee Pedlar Inn in Torrington, CT the founder Alice Conley had made the Inn her life. She was aware that her husband Frank was in the light and she wanted to be with him but was afraid she could no longer return to the inn if the crossed over. It is always a matter of a spirit not understanding their true nature. When they cross over their free will is restored.
Q: What about hotels and restaurants that have ghosts or earthbound spirits and use it to attract business and media attention?
Alice Violet: The best thing they can do for their business to increase the positive energy in the space by helping the earthbound pass over.
Q: Do you believe we have a moral obligation to help earthbounds?
Alice Violet: I do and the people I work with are grateful that they could assist a soul in this profound way.
Q: “What if they don’t believe in this?
Alice Violet: It’s like electricity it doesn’t matter if you believe in it. They’re already reaping the negative effects and some part of their business always suffers.
Q: How long does it take?
Alice Violet: It’s a two part process. Crossing over usually takes just minutes. Clearing the residual effects can take a little longer.
The first thing owners should understand is whatever scenario the ghost is playing out vibrationally affects their place, today. Energetically it is happening over and over again, just as it did in the past. The longer it plays out the stronger the imprint-and the more you’ll feel the negative effect.
That negative energy will attract the people that enjoy that type of morbid energy, but healthier minded people will not want to be there and this will certainly affect business.
That’s karma.
Q: What do you think they should do?
Alice Violet: Nothing good can come out of it until the spirit is helped.
Really there is only one thing to do. Help the earthbound spirit. That will shift the energy and also bless their space with the thanks not only from the spirit but their family and guardian angels. It is a very real and surreal experience that they always feel. Amazing, really.
Q: Can the owner help an earthbound cross over by themselves?
Alice Violet: Sometimes, it depends on the situation. If they told them it was okay to go to the light and it could help them. If they told them they would have free will to come back that might help too.
